Haynes Motor Museum

Earlier in the year, the organisers of British Naturism's Nudefest event arranged a clothes-optional visit to the Haynes International Motor Museum, so I took an afternoon off and headed down to Yeovil. It's a pretty good collection, broken down into broad themes - British marques, American classics, Motorsport, Supercars, Vintage, a whole room of red sportscars, and more - well worth a visit if you're in the area. Fireworks

After several years of not quite getting round to it, or it being rained off, we managed to get to see the Canford Park fireworks on Saturday. I took the tripod along and took photos - I think I last photographed fireworks in about 1990! Also includes a bit of sparkler action. I was quite flattered to be contacted by a model last week, looking to collaborate with me to help develop her portfolio - we headed out to an abandoned church at Tintern, and the lampshades had another outing (it's one of the things that caught her eye in my portfolio!). Hestercombe

A few weeks ago we saw a Gardeners' World feature on Hestercombe in Somerset, so we decided to pay a visit. We've found giving up our National Trust membership quite liberating - we'd only tend to consider going to their sites on the grounds we'd have to pay for anywhere else, so having to pay everywhere means we can go (theoretically) anywhere. Anyway, Hestercombe is lovely, well worth a visit....

Cornwall 2016

We spent a week in Cornwall (or more specifically The Lizard), ambling around various villages and coves. Kynance Cove was as glorious as ever - I think this was the third time I've been there and there have been spectacular waves every time. A lovely place. Porthcurno and the Minack Theatre are favourites too. Mullion Cove was new to us, as was Coverack where a chance spot of a notice in a shop window led us to the Terence Coventry Sculpture Garden - chock full of really interesting modern sculpture....
