Despite having lived in Bristol for almost 20 years, I think I've only been to Weston once before. Last week I got together with a couple of old photography friends (we met on a course at the Watershed back in about 2001) and went down to Weston for the day to catch up and take a few photos. I quite enjoyed the traditional seaside resort ambience, a week or two before the main summer holidays begin so it wasn't horribly busy. A nice mix of shots of the seaside thing, the pier and people....

We had two main stops on the drive back through France. The first was the chateau at Villandry, not far from Tours, which was amazing - huge formal gardens, quite spectacular. The other was a visit to Pegasus Bridge just north of Caen, one of the first places (the first?) liberated on D-Day. As it turned out, the hotel we booked happened to be in the village of Benouville so the bridge was only about 5 minutes walk away....

I am so pleased with this set of photos - the night sky was fantastic and I was able to capture it well. The new 20mm lens definitely helped! And of course some obligatory sunsets......

I've finally got round to sorting out some photos from our summer holiday - a lovely 3 weeks at a gite in France doing very little. One trip out was to the water lily gardens at Latour Marliac, also visited last year, a lovely place to visit. Some odds and sods...
