A summer of photos, and a new camera

Right, a bit of catching up to do - this post contains several sets of photos from the last few months - this is a re-post of several posts I put up earlier as I thought it better to lump them together into one. St Mary Redcliffe Back in April I bought a new camera - a Fuji X-T20, and this was the first trip out with it. Given that my office at the time was pretty much next door to St Mary Redcliffe, it was nice and simple to drop in one lunchtime. I'd worked there for over 10 years and this was the first time I'd been in to take photos... The main reason for looking at the Fuji was practicality - when we went to Cornwall last year, I found I was leaving some of the Nikon kit behind because it was so damn heavy and it's just daft to have kit and not use it. Derelict Church (NSFW)

I recently joined a site called Purpleport, which aims to put photographers and models in touch with each other - professionals and amateurs like me. I saw a shoot advertised that sounded too interesting to pass up - a couple of models were organising something at a derelict church outside Chepstow. And I'm so glad I did it - I am so pleased with the photos I got from it, although a lot of credit does have to go to the models Helen and Emma. I appreciate that nudes aren't everyone's cup of tea, but there's nothing gratuitous or offensive here - just what I hope you think are some beautiful images. Blaise

Considering we've been in our current house for 6 years or so, it's amazing that we've never been to Blaise - it's about 5 minutes away. Anyway, on Friday afternoon we went for a wander with our neighbour to see what elderberries and blackberries there were - quite a lot as it turned out. There's a whole lot more of the estate that we'll have to go back and look at as we only really touched on one corner, including St Mary's Church....
